I love Alaska, in the summer and fall. I’m not the winter person, I don’t do winter sports, etc., and I really don’t like the cold.
Why do I live here? Well, I have lived here for most of my life. I was born here, left when I was roughly 1 1/2 years old and came back when I was 8 1/2 years old. I spent the ‘away’ years in Alabama, so you can imagine the acclimation that had to take place. Even though I have been here the remaining 34’ish years I do prefer warm climate, and muchly wish that I could move to the lower 48, or to America as my family and I call it.
Some of the reasons that I do love it here are, and this is specific to South Central Alaska:
Very little bothersome spiders, only two are poisonous
No real varmints to speak off, i.e., raccoons, groundhogs, muskrats
Not a huge population even though the state is HUGE
Other than that and my immediate family is here, there really isn’t much of a reason. Well, it is absolutely gorgeous…
